My wake up call was learning about Jon Morrow of Smart Blogger. Who has a disease that allows him move just his tongue. Yet he's used it to build a multi-million dollar online writing business (he types with his tongue).

After I read his story, all my excuses just died. You can do anything you set your mind to.

Thank you for sharing Tim.

Fears and Obsessions such a rich relationship. We fear getting what we really want, because once we do, we're never the same.

Expand full comment

And often getting what we want doesn't make us happy.

Thanks for the motivation, Tim! I have been talking about writing for years but have done nothing! I’ve finally taken action and am posting daily, despite varying obstacles that ordinarily would give me good reason not to move forward!

So glad to hear Linda. Where can we read your writing?

Tim,

I feel like I know you a bit - from fortune to poverty and sickness, back in the settle and having a baby girl, all that I've been reading these past months. Wanted to thank you and although I might not take any of the courses for the time being (living in Brazil I wouldn't know where to post my stuff in order to make some money) I will continue to read and be inspired. Obrigada e um beijo grande!

Thanks Suzana. Brazilian people use traditional social media too – like LinkedIn and Twitter – don't they?

You were absolutely spot on about changing our self-perceptions and getting ourselves in order before we expect others, the entire world and its 7 seven seas to change the atmosphere to accommodate our needs. Sometimes, we rile ourselves up unnecessarily by imagining intense conversations with others only to realize that we can't always control of what's outside of us. How we react to others sets the foundation to build a successful life. It doesn't mean we should ignore of the issues around us, but we gain a WAY CLEARER perspective of how to handle those issues by learning how to handle ourselves first. Love your post :)

Yes!! Yes!! Tomorrow is here 🚀

It's taken me so long to drag myself 'kicking and screaming' to today - "doing it messy in the middle of a 'crazy' life!!"

Thanks for believing in us Tim 😊

Today I needed a boot in the arse. This was it for me. I know what I have to do. I just need to get off my dollar and do it. Thanks Tim

You got it Jack. Nike was right: just do it.

Tim, great point about fixed income. I've a stable high-paying job but I want something more. I chose to write online.

Multiple income streams is the way Denis. Where do you write? Do you make money from it?

Expand full comment

On Medium and Substack (yesterday published my first post here). I'm making peanuts on Medium but as you say, it takes years to master the craft. I'm here for the long run.

Thanks for sharing Denis. What do you love/hate about Medium?

I like that I can practice writing, get feedback, and get paid while learning. There's literally zero risk running this side hustle.

And therein lies the choice for ya mate. Pack it all in? Or adapt and train a different way while you rehab 🤔 I think I know how you’d go about it

I need to adapt. I'm currently learning how to do short stretches to prevent injuries. I'm open to ideas.
