This definitely applies to writing. When I make an effort to come up with a good story, the story ends up average. Creativity comes from boredom, not from effort.
This piece really moved me, thank you for writing it. Tilting the review mirror is a great mind shift and not one I’ve heard before.
It’s tough to keep it at 85%, especially for those of us who spent years being conditioned to work at 100%. Breaking that behavior pattern is real work, but so worth it.
So you're adding to your baby-daddy credentials, Tim! Good on you. Blessings to mama and your #1, who've both inspired you to slow down and enjoy the moment - the only thing that ever exists.
Thank you for this great reminder, Tim. People who 'get it' understand. More than once I was asked to explain why my calendar was not filled back to back with meeting appointments or blocked for work time while still managing to get the work completed. While others might not have or needed assistance.
My takeaway from the Lewis story is consistency - ignore the noise, keep your head down, keep doing the work day in and day out. Find a pace you can sustain over longer periods of time.

Congratulations on the new baby!

This is so encouraging! But oh, so difficult! I'm the go 100%, burn candle at both ends type then spend days utterly exhausted and useless.
Turn your rear view mirror to the sky. Love that!

As you say, “I’m in for the Baby Bundle.”
