Your friend was stabbed and you were beaten Tim!!!! I am so sorry to hear you went through that nightmare. I hope your friend survived it. Jim was my favourite actor too so I was surprised and delighted when he DM me and we became friends. We reminisced about his movies and his depression and his hopes of coming out to New Zealand when COVID ended. Sounds nice right? Wrong! It was a scam! Thank you for your article about Jim I’ll enjoy seeing his speech.

What a story Sue! Didn't know there were Jim Carrey scammers. How did you find out it was all a lie?

Great quotes and love the reframe ...depression “Jim says your body needs to be depressed. It needs deep rest from the character you’ve been trying to play”. This article confirms that writing is medicine/healing and thats what we and our world need now. Thank You

The deeper I go into my writing, the more I realize that's it's ok to be me.

I don't have to find out what folks want to read, I can just share me.

One if the best documentaries I’ve seen is Jim & Andy where Jim played the comedian Andy Kaufman and stayed in character nonstop from beginning to end of shooting it. He a fascinating dude, I thoroughly enjoyed this article Tim

Fantastic post! Jim Carrey is amazing, and I too go back to that commencement speech repeatedly. I love your own thoughts that you wove in here, too.

Cheers Ryan. One of the best speeches I've ever seen. My second favorite is "This Is Water"

I didn't like Jim Carrey. That's until he became himself. Now I not only like him, but I also admire him.

What a turn around Isabel. I love when people change their minds. What do you admire about him?

My Medium experience says that sharing my life experiences and what I learned from them is what makes people want to read my work. Not "How to" articles but "How I" and "Why I" stories.

I've found the same Denis. We're all sick of Elon Musk morning routines.

I did enjoy this article... and completely agree that being creative (I am a professional artist and I write) is the best therapy ever. I did a restack of that part about creativity healing your soul! Thank you!

His courage to change despite the damage it could have caused to his career. He also seems more human, with no inflated ego.

"Love is the answer" - Interesting for me of course.

I have my thoughts written in a similar way. (reposting it as my first article on Substack)
