Tim, although I was doing 70+ hour weeks in my previous role (and I loved that), a looming layoff made me take a fresh look at generating income. We're no longer living in the Industrial Age, we're moving to the Digital Economy. Making money through the Internet is the way.
I'm currently re-reading Millionaire Fastlane by MJ DeMarco and I agree with you both! It's a fresh new perspective most the people don't see. I'm working on it as I want to have free time for seeing my kids grow up in a few years (don't have any yet).
I especially liked the tax bit. I’m looking forward to getting started. I need to salary for a while, to solve the immediate cashflow problem, but building the whole time.
Nodding along, as usual. Also as usual, got this annoying voice in my head saying "oh, but this can't possibly apply to me, because [insert excuse here]."
I get that this piece is focused on financial freedom, which is an important part of achieving creative freedom. But the latter is the real goal, isn’t it? Paul Graham ties it to being able to do “great work,” which almost always will be a personal project. Though, some lucky few can align their personal great work with an organization’s mission!

I don't see how this isn't the most obvious statement in the world? 😅
Totally agree. Especially with the taxes! Those can kill you!
I love your honest buff voice.
I lost my job today.
I was hoping to work for 10 years saving $100,000 per year and become millionaire in a decade.
Now am done.
Tim is just kidding.
Now… if I could just get out of my own way!
The quiet part out loud. 💯
Great read, mate.
+building a business is the most humbling experience.
It'll teach you more about yourself and human psychology than anything else.
Totally agree with your writing. Each and every line is insightful and inspiring to take action.
I really appreciate your insight. I’m looking forward to building those income streams in addition to my real estate business.
So good. Love naval
